Hello,
I'm super new to the world of PCB and electronics.
I have an idea for a project.
I don't know where to start though.
I believe I know most of the components that I need but I still know nothing.
KiCad is on my computer, I need to learn how to use the program.
Trying to make a small round PCB that will connect to a coin battery (CR2032)
The battery will light up a red LED that will flash to the beat of a sound.
The LED should be the flat kind, a regular bulb might be too big.
The PCB with everything connected needs to be very compact.
Also would like a small speaker attached that will play a simple 3 to 5 second sound, clueless on where to begin with that.
I may need a resister too.
This will have to be small enough to fit on the inside of a watch.
I've seen something similar before so I know it's possible.
I would like to take the time to slowly learn about this and know exactly what I'm doing.
Thank you for any help that you can provide.
Seems like you are just getting started with electronics, I would recommend you start with a prototype rather than working on the PCB for now.
Start simple, A LED + Resistor + Buzzer + Microcontroller. Program the microcontroller according to the function you want. During this process don’t think about the size and the placement of the component, just purely focus on the functionality & feature that’s needed.
In stage two, that’s when you have the functionality of the circuit ready, try to find similar components with smaller footprint that can fit inside the watch and then build the PCB around it.
