RFID Reader on Kicad

Hello guys, I am newbie engineer. I am working a RFID Project. I want to make my own RFID reader and antenna but I don’t know how to do my own reader.
I imagine about my reader is;
1- Read the UHF Tags and It will work 865 MHz(Eu Standarts)
2- Its own external antenna port. I connect my UHF Antenna to my reader.
3- One Led and one buzzer for each reading.
4- USB 2.0 or Type 3 feeding power.
5- Microcontroller (STM32, ESP32 ext…) to control the my electronic card.
6- RS232 or RS485 for communicate.

These are my thoughts. I want to your helps to design this reader :blush:

Start simple:

  • Build a prototype using any microcontroller that you are comfortable (make sure it as the peripherals you need - USB 2/3, number of GPIO etc…)
  • Try to code & execute bare minimum feature of the product (MVP)
  • Decide the dimension of the final product
  • Once the components and features are decided try to optimize the cost of the component
  • Finally Start with building the PCB

We have a dedicated tutorial explaining how to build product from scratch, this might help!
